Are there different types of Meeza Cards?

Yes, Meeza offer two types of cards:

1- Debit cards: these are payment cards that are directly linked to your bank account whether current or savings account.
2- Prepaid cards: unlike the debit cards, they are not linked to a bank account and can be issued using a valid nation ID only.

Both cards can be used in purchases on any POS, Government payments, cash deposits and withdrawals from any ATM, and online locally.

How to issue a meeza card?

Please go to one of these issuer banks: National Bank of Egypt, Banque Misr, Banque du Caire, CIB, Agriculture bank, Housing and Development Bank, Alex Bank, Societe Arabe Internationale De Banque (SAIB), United Bank, Industrial Development & Workers Bank Of Egypt, QNB, BLOM

Prepaid cards can be issued with a valid national ID only; while debit cards will require more documents – pending on each bank.

Do I need to have a bank account to issue a meeza card?

No, meeza prepaid cards do not require having a bank account and can be issued using a valid national ID only.

What is the interest rate on cards?

Prepaid cards are not linked to a bank account so there aren’t any interest. Debit cards are however linked to bank accounts and there can be interest depending on the type of the account and the issuer bank

What do I do if the card is lost or stolen?

Contact your issuer bank immediately to block the card and issue a new one

Are there any fees when paying for purchases or any government due amounts?

No, there aren’t any fees on the consumer. You only pay the value amount of your purchase or service.

An amount has been deducted from my card but the payment was not processed / rejected?

Please contact your issuer bank to refund the amount.

How can I reload or charge the card?

You can deposit money in the card at your issuer bank branch or your issuer bank’s ATM

Can I receive an international remittance on meeza cards?

It varies depending on the bank. Please check with your issuer bank.

I have a meeza card, can I apply on a loan?

Loan services are offered by the banks only. Please check with your bank.

What is the card expiry date?

It varies depending on the bank. The minimum is 2 years and the maxium is 5 years.

I have a meeza card, but I don't receive any messages on my phone?

the SMS banking service is offer by the banks. Please contact your issuer bank to activate the service.

Can I transfer money from my card to a mobile wallet?

There is no money transfers between prepaid cards and mobile wallets. You can transfer money from your bank account to a mobile wallet only.

Where is Meeza Card application link?

There is no application for Meeza Cards. Mobile apps are only available for mobile wallets holders. Each mobile wallet service provider has its own app.

Can I charge the card through Fawry?

No, you can charge the card from your issuer bank’s ATM or the bank’s branch.

What is the maximum daily deposit?

12,000 EGP

What is the maximum amount I can deposit in meeza prepaid card?

20,000 EGP

What is the difference between Meeza Cards and the Mobile Wallet?

Meeza cards and Mobile wallets are different separate services.
The mobile wallet is an electronic account that the consumer can issue with their National ID and Mobile number only through one of the service providers (banks or telecom companies) Consumers can use their mobile wallets in money transfers, bill payments or cash withdrawals and deposits from ATMs. There are currently no money transfers between cards and mobile wallets

How can I activate meeza card?

The card activation process differs depending on the issuer bank. Please contact your bank to activate your card.

The card isn't working on Google Play.

Meeza cards can be used on local websites and applications only.

Are there any fees on ATM cash withdrawals?

Currently and for 6 months, there no fees on ATM cashwithdrawals based on CBE’s decree.
